Elsa Cantu

Elsa Perez Cantu passed away at her home in Calallen on Monday, July 31, 2017 at the age of 58, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Beatrice Perez Bazan and Joseph Bazan, Jr. on September 18, 1958. Elsa is preceded in death by both her parents and maternal grandmother Juanita S. Perez. Elsa is survived by her loving husband, Roberto Cantu of almost 30 years; one daughter, Desiree Belinda Perez; two sons, Roberto Steven Cantu and Raymond Rene (Julie) Cantu all from Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, John A. Perez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ronald. P. Bazan of San Antonio, Texas and Joseph Bazan (Chris) of Fayetteville, N.C.; six grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved her pets dearly. Elsa had a passion for making floral wreath arrangements and giving them as gifts. This lovely gesture will be greatly missed. Early in their marriage Elsa and Roberto fostered children in their home. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August, 4, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
