Elizabeth Caroline Gold Kimmel, 89, entered eternal rest Saturday afternoon, March 10, and has been reunited in heaven with her husband, Jesse, who left this world in December, 2007. Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her brother, Hugo Butch Gold; brother-in-law Barry Wood; nephews, Timothy O'Grady, Lucas Kimmel, Chip Wood, and niece Jennifer Vanderheiden. Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Yvonne ( John ) Laurenson, Susan ( Walter ) Presley, and Mark ( Carolyn ) Kimmel. Also cherishing her memories are grandchildren, Helen ( Gregory ) Jack, Lana Kimmel, Jim ( Kris ) Kimmel, Charity Robbin and great-grandchildren, Jordan Kimmel, Conner Kimmel and Wolfgang Jack. Elizabeth is also survived by her siblings, Bernadette ( Mike ) O'Grady, John ( Macy ) Gold, Mary Christine ( Jerry ) English, Alice Wood, and Waleta ( Jim ) Kimmel. Elizabeth was born on November 7, 1928, to Hugo and Christine Hoelscher Gold, and was raised on a farm near Violet, TX. She attended Violet and IWA schools, and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet. On April 10, 1947 she married Jesse Kimmel, and they later joined St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church in Annaville. Elizabeth was a member of the St. Anthony's Historical Society, St. Peter's Altar Society and the Daughters of The Republic of Texas. She was also a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Elizabeth will be remembered for her love of family, her hard working spirit, and her devout faith. The family would like to thank Alice, Dixie, and Jessica for their care and devotion to Elizabeth, as well as the nurses and aids from Christus Hospice. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 with the Rosary being be recited on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.
