Edward Kelley, Jr., 83, went to our Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2014 after a short illness. Ed was born September 19, 1930 in Lockhart, Texas to Ed and Ida (Yeager) Kelley. After moving to the Robstown area in 1942, he was involved in farming and ranching. He served two years in the U. S. Army. He retired from ASARCO, Corpus Christi, after 27 years. He was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove and the Banquete Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert; a son-in-law, Phil Belcher; six brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Georgie Kelley; his children, Susan Brubaker (Bill) of Magnolia, Texas, Jo Ann Darden (Randel) of San Antonio, Texas, Chuck Kelley (Kila) of George West, Texas and Barbara Belcher of Edinburg, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 2 P.M. Monday, May 5, 2014, with the family present beginning at 6 P.M. and the Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas with Rev. Prince Kuruvila as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Those who wish may make contributions to St. John of the Cross Catholic Church Building Fund.
