Edward Frank Havelka, Sr., also known as E. F. Havelka, builder, was born October 25, 1921 and died on April 14, 2012 at the age of 90, after a year long illness. He was married to Margaret "Margie" Palousek for 65 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII, was a founding member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in 1947, a member of the Knights of Columbus, KJT, and the American Legion. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing to Czech music, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, six sisters and granddaughter, Margie Cameron. He is survived by his wife, Margie Havelka; three daughters and two sons, Joanie Adkins married to Howard of Corpus Christi, Texas, Randy Havelka, Sr. married to Janet Abbe of Hutto, Texas, Sharon Albert married to Jackie of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Denise "Dinky" Sellers married to Dan of Lago Vista, Texas, Edward Havelka, Jr. married to Dorothy Dunham of Pearland, Texas; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Miller Smith (Barry), Tamra Monninger (Richard), Randy Havelka, Jr. (Megan), Christopher Havelka (Charlene), Lori Albert, Andrew Albert (Courtney), Jason Sellers, Heather Lane and Stephen Havelka (Tamara); seventeen great grandchildren, Kearen, Haidee and Denika Monninger, Daxton Havelka, Casey and Matteson Kapa, Cameron, Caroline and Jackson "Pinky" Albert, Talen Sellers, Faith and Victoria Strohm, Nicole Lane, Luka and Lyla Havelka, Kaitlyn and Maegen; one great great grandchild, Olivia. The Rosary will be recited at 7 P.M. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be concelebrated at 9 A.M. Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 A.M. Friday, April 20, 2012 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to St. Theresa Catholic Church.
