Eduardo "Eddie" Martinez

Eduardo Martinez "Eddie", 73, was Heavenly embraced by our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 13th, 2022. He was born on October 3, 1948 in  Laredo, Texas.

He proudly served in the United States Army and served in Vietnam and is also recognized as a Vietnam War Veteran. He graduated from Miller High School in 1967. After graduating high school, he started his career working at the Reynolds Metals Sherwin Plant where he retired after many years of dedicated hard work.

Eddie was very loved and remembered as the best son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother you could possibly have.  He was plain and simple, yet very good looking and an honest-working man. He was known as “fast Eddie” because he was always willing to go the extra mile for everyone. Eddie had many qualities about himself, but what everyone always remembers is his humility and generosity; he had a heart made of gold.

He is survived by his sons, Jeremy E. Martinez, Jason E. Martinez (Monica); sister, Alice M. Rios (Manuel); brothers, Javier Martinez (Alicia), Marcos Martinez (JoAnn); granddaughters, Angelica and Bernice Martinez; grandson, Eric Martinez; great granddaughter and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Martinez, Sr.; mother, Irene G. Martinez; brother, Domingo Martinez, Jr.; sister, Sylvia Camacho (David) and daughter, Annejeanette Martinez.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 12:00PM with the Funeral Mass beginning at 12:30PM at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
