Edmond L. Haught (Leroy), 81, passed away November 15, 2010 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born April 13, 1929 in Vernon, Texas to Albert and Opal Grimes Haught. Leroy was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Robstown Masonic Lodge #1062 A.F. & A.M., a member of the Al Amin Shrine Temple, Robstown Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #540 and was a member of the Scottish Rite. He was presented the Golden Trowel at his Masonic Lodge in 2009 and was so proud of this honor, and we were so proud of him. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Marcella (Marcy) Haught, his youngest daughter, Nikki Harper, his son, Joe Layne, his parents, Albert and Opal Haught, his in-laws, Ollie and Maggie McGary and a great granddaughter, Amy Jo Johnson. Surviving him are his daughters, Judy (Joel) Branum of Princeton, Texas and Barbara Evans Hughes of Corpus Christi, Texas and daughter-in-law, Ginger Layne; sister, Ann Rainwater; brothers, Herb Haught (Joni), Richard Haught(Lou Ann); brothers-in-law, Mac McGary(Joan), Tommy McGary (Betty) and Dub McGary. He is also survived by his companion of ten years, Sue Jordon. He has eleven grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, all of whom loved and adored their Paw Paw. To the nurses and staff on the third floor at Doctors Regional Hospital and Angel Bright Hospice "Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the loving care you gave our Dad and for the ever so sincere support you gave to us, his family". It is without doubt there are angels on earth - we have met some! Our Dad was an exceptional man and we were so blessed to have him for our Daddy. He loved us with his "heart as big as Texas" and we know everyday of our lives that "There is always love in Daddy's hands." He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 West Hidalgo in Raymondville, Texas with graveside services and interment at 2:00 P.M. in the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery in Lyford, Texas.
