Dwayne Strickland

Dwayne Strickland, 59 of Corpus Christi, passed away September 16, 2010. Dwayne was born May 25, 1951 in Lamesa, Texas. Dwayne was the owner and operator of Strickland Cotton Company, Inc. for 21 years. Dwayne was a past president of Corpus Christi Cotton Exchange and life long member of the Texas Cotton Association as well as the Lubbock Cotton Exchange. On June 6, 1970 he married the love of his life, Roxanne. He and Roxanne shared many happy memories with each other throughout the years. Dwayne is preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Leota Strickland and father-in-Law, Fred Nelson Minter. Dwayne is survived by his wife, Roxanne; daughter, Brandy Berry (Todd); son, Chad (Brittney); mother-in-law, Fern Minter; and grandchildren, Callie Baskin, Brady Allen Strickland, Logan and Madison Berry; and a host of friends and family. Memorial services will be conducted on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. The family would like to thank the Nursing Staff of the 3rd Floor North at Doctors Regional Hospital with a special Thank You to Dr. Richard Hinojosa. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
