Sandia, Texas Douglas Ray Sims, 52, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born November 21, 1957 in Victoria, Texas. He was employed by El Paso Corporation. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Sims. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Connie Rae Sims of Sandia, Texas; his daughter, Eileah Renee Sims of Sandia, Texas; his parents, Norman and Martha Sims of Victoria, Texas; his brother, Robert (Darcy) Sims of Houston, Texas; his grandmother, Leona Kirchner of Victoria, Texas. Visitation will be from 9 A.M. until 11 A.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 5101 Saratoga Boulevard, Corpus Christi, Texas. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Sims, Glenn Hagemann, Mike Cockrell, Steve Cockrell, Jeff Cockrell and David Ainsworth.
