Douglas Wayne Holtzclaw, born February 8, 1943, passed away on Wednesday January 27, 2021 after battling a long illness. Doug was born in Morton, TX. The family eventually moved to Wolforth, TX and he attended high school at Frenship High. Doug joined the Navy after high school and afterwards, came back to Lubbock and graduated from Texas Tech. He is preceded in death by his wife Darlene Jane Holtzclaw, his parents William and Betty Holtzclaw siblings William N. Holtzclaw, Kenneth Holtzclaw, and Betty Lois Holtzclaw, as well as a niece Colleen, and a great-niece Ava Jordan. He is survived by his daughter Darla Priestley, son-in-law Isaac and grandson Paul Priestley of Brooklyn, NY. His brother Kirby Holtzclaw of Jarrell, TX, Curtis Holtzclaw of Lubbock, TX, sisters Dhiana Gould of Mechanicville, NY, Cynthia Trautman of Corpus Christi, TX and Carol Easley of Wichita Falls, TX., as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Doug and his family made a home in Corpus Christi, TX for over 40 years and ran a successful Real Estate Company in Calallen. Everyone who knew Doug admired and loved him . He was a man of great wit, honesty, not perfect but with a moral compass who touched so many. The world is a lesser place without him in it. There will not be a service at this time.
