Dorothy Carter

Dorothy Eloise Gillespie Carter, age 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away January 27, 2015. She was born March 15, 1927 in Robstown, Texas to Roy Ernest Gillespie, Sr. and Florence Thompson Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Carter; sisters, Cherry Gillespie and Melba (Neal) Clarkson; brother, Roy (Dorothy) Gillespie, Jr. She is survived by a son, Gary (Sharon) Capeheart; daughters, Meloise Capeheart, Joleen (David) McCullough; eight grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson; brother, Victor Gillespie. Dotty was a loving mother, avid domino player, and active church member. As a retired legal secretary she spent her golden years doing the things she loved most, enjoying travel with her husband, singing in her church choir, and watching her family grow. The things she valued most were her faith, family, and friends. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the Woodlawn Garden of Memories in Houston, Texas.
