Dorothy Carpenter

Dorothy Arlene Carpenter, born August 28, 1924 in Glendo, Wyoming passed away August 7, 2013 at the age of 88. She was a greeter and member of First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas and had been employed for ten years in the food service at Tuloso-Midway Independent School District. She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Myrtle Haggerty, brother, Don and sister, Thelma, husband, Emmett Lee Carpenter and grandson, Shane Carpenter. She is survived by sons, Emmett “Buddy” D. Carpenter (Larue), Danny Lee Carpenter (Carolyn), and Troy Max Carpenter (Kathy), and daughters, Debra Lynn Ashby (Perry), Vivian Scott Carpenter (Greg), and Tammie Lee Ciolfi (Dave), sisters, Faye Haggerty and Maxine Robbins, 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5:30 P.M. until 9 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Odem, Texas with Bro. Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
