Dorothy Barbee

Dorothy Elizabeth Seward Barbee, 89, of Robstown, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 1, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born to David and Mary Elizabeth Cole Seward on October 3, 1925 in Trent, Texas, and married Harold Wolford Barbee, Sr. on July 14, 1954. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her parents, David and Lizzie, her sisters, Don Cliett and Maxine Baker, and brothers, Jim and Terry.Dorothy is survived by her sons, Harold (Mary) Barbee, Jr. and David Barbee; granddaughters, Sarah (Kelly) Harlan, Lori (Edward) Sanford; great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Maggie and Colin; sister-in-law, Iva Louise Seward, and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. Dorothy’s biggest enjoyment was visiting with family and friends. Her hobbies included sewing, baking and cooking. Kids were the light of her life and she loved spoiling them all. Easter was always a big celebration at her home on the Nueces River, where family and friends gathered for egg hunts, tons of food, and her famous fudge brownies! The family would like to thank Angel Bright Hospice for their compassion and loving care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission in Corpus Christi, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2 pm.
