DORIS JEAN WHITWORTH Corpus Christi, Texas Doris Jean Whitworth went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on December 3, 2013. Doris was born to Mr. & Mrs. James Oliver and Bessie Marie Ware on November 5, 1929 in Calallen where she lived the majority of her life. Doris was a devoted Christian and loved her church. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend. She loved to travel. She was a member of a synchronized swimming team in her younger years with the YWCA. Doris was a swimming instructor for the Red Cross for many years. She graduated from Calallen in 1946 and was employed by Calallen ISD for many years. Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" Whitworth; Father, James Oliver Ware; Mother, Bessie Marie Ware; Son, Gary William Whitworth; Son, Todd Oliver Whitworth and Grandson, Brandon Lee Whitworth. She is survived by her Daughter, Debra Waters; Son, Bernard Whitworth and his wife Patricia; Daughter-in-Law, Francis Whitworth. Also survived by her Grandchildren, Bridgett Whitworth, James T. Bruce, Kevin Whitworth, Melonie Perez, Amanda Miller, Chelsea Whitworth, Elizabeth Bruce, Corey Holland and Wes Whitworth and 7 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at the Calallen Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Willoughby officiating. Entombment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Donations, P. O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210 and on the check Memo: Gary W. Whitworth, Ph.D. Sarcoma Memorial Fund.
