Doris Smitley

Doris Cleo Smitley, age 94, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on January 11, 2014. She was born September 28, 1919 in Toledo, Ohio to John and Fern Cleveland. She lived most of her life in Fostoria, Ohio before moving to Texas. Doris loved to travel and spending time with her family and her pets. She was an avid fan of the San Antonio Spurs and supported Tuloso-Midway basketball, the Corpus Christi Hooks and the Senior Softball Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris C. Smitley, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Marcy (C.J.) Rodriguez; granddaughter, Katrina (Ruben) Vela; grandson, Bryan (Josyclin) Patrick, Jeremy and Anthony Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Briana Vela, Kristian Vela, Lee Patrick, Justin Meyer, Ryan and Ryanna Rodriguez. A memorial visitation with the family present will be on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.
