Donnie Alexander

Donnie Wayne Alexander, age 62, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away December 21, 2011. He was born January 9, 1949 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to R.V. and Ruth Helen Alexander. Mr. Alexander graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School after which he married his High School sweetheart. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from Citgo Refinery after twenty-three years of service. He was an author and held six mechanical patents. He loved his children, grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mike Alexander. He is survived by his wife of forty four years, Sandi Alexander of Corpus Christi, Texas; children, Douglas (Cabernet) Alexander of Corpus Christi, Texas, Lisa Alexander of San Diego, California, David Alexander of Corpus Christi, Texas; brothers and sisters, Bruce (Debbie) Alexander of Quitman, Louisiana, Barry (Joyce) Alexander of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Denise (Gerald) Edwards of Haughton, Louisiana, Becky (Tim) Norman of Quitman, Louisiana, Lois Alexander of Quitman, Louisiana; grandchildren, Whitney Winkler, Dillon, Dakota, Justin Alexander; step-grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, Madison, Malorie Gayden, Eric Cantu; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday. December 27, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 12 noon in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Douglas Alexander, David Alexander, Dillon Alexander, Justin Alexander, Dakota Alexander and Tommy Winkler.
