Dollie Mae Schubert, 89, passed away at her home on June 15, 2014. She was born in Taft, Texas on November 10, 1924 to Hardie Homer Hutto and Dollie Frances Newman Hutto. She went to school and graduated from Banquete High School in May 1943. She was a drum major in the band and was the Most Popular girl in school her senior year. Dollie was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Driscoll, Texas and was the leader of the girls’ youth group and Sunday School. Later she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Banquete. She married Talford Lee (Chat) Schubert, Sr. on May 5, 1944 in Anniston, Alabama. They celebrated their 70th Anniversary this year. Dollie was preceded in death by six brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her husband, Talford Lee Schubert, Sr.; her children, T.L. Schubert, Jr. (Kathy), Marvin Schubert (Sue), Bruce Schubert (Johanna), Rick Schubert (Jody), Rebecca Wilson (Dean), and Rodney Schubert (Tina); twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren; a special nephew they raised, Jimmy Monse (Shelly); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Banquete Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
