Deanna Godfrey

After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Dee Godfrey passed away on December 17, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born November 6, 1938 in Harlingen to Buddy and Martha Vanderford. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ric Godfrey in 2011 and her first husband, Jack R. Williams in 1976. She grew up in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas in the La Feria area. She lived in Victoria, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas for the majority of her life. She worked in administration for various school districts and retired from Victoria ISD after 25 years of service. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a great cook, loved to play cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three children: James (Valerie) Williams of Victoria, Texas, Debra Wright, and Chris (Sharon) Williams of Corpus Christi, Texas; 9 grandchildren: C. J. Williams, Amber (Emmanuel) Garcia, Jonathan (Jessica) Williams, Ansley (Michael) Allen, J.R. (Katie) Williams, Elizabeth (Jake) McNutt, Wesley Wright, Paige (Jeremy) Scott, and Julie Williams. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren: Layton, Bella, Caden, Tatum, Chelsi, Baby Jon, and Liam. She will be missed by Nikki, her beloved cat. Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00pm on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Chruch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, an animal charity of your choice, or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Dr. Mahmood and his staff at the Thomas-Spann Clinic for all of their care and support.
