David ‘Kicker' Gonzalo Naranjo, 60, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed from death unto life with Jesus Christ, on July 22, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. David was born on August 30, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Gonzalo B. Naranjo, Jr. and Josephine Santos Naranjo. David dedicated his life to Christ on February 6, 1995 and had struggled following after the Lord but had recommitted his life again in February 2014. He graduated from Foy Moody High School and served for 18 years in the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller. He was retired from the United States Postal Service. David was an avid supporter of Vietnam Veterans, POWs, and he loved to see the world from the view on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a loving father and loved being called ‘Papa D' by his grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his father, Gonzalo B. Naranjo Jr. He leaves loving memories to his survivors: his mother, Josephine Santos Naranjo; his sons, Nick (Gabriela) Naranjo and Joe Buck (Brenda) Naranjo; his three brothers, Ricardo Naranjo, Daniel (Nita) Naranjo Sr., Eduardo (Debbie) Naranjo; one sister, Christine (Jesus) Naranjo Tovar; and grandchildren, Austin Michael Naranjo, Olivia Abigail Naranjo and another due in 2014; and several nieces and nephews. David is also survived by his ex-wife and longtime friend, Thelma Alatorre Naranjo.
