David Fossum

David Richard Fossum, 76, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Angel Bright Hospice.  Dave was born July 31, 1944, in Minneapolis MN, to Dorothy (Fossum) Soland.  He was raised in the Canton-Harmony Minnesota area and was confirmed at the Greenfield Lutheran Church.  He was a graduate of Harmony High School class of 1963, and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Army.  He served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969.

He married Edith "Edie" Fischer in 1989 and had 16 years of marriage together.  She preceded him in death in 2005.

Dave was a hard worker, he ran various service stations in Minnesota and Iowa, worked at Mabel Lumber yard, and later employed by Orkin Pest Control Service.

Dave liked the outdoors and took great interest in deer hunting in his younger years.  Listening to country music was a favorite pastime and would often sing karaoke on the weekend.  He made many dear friends and enjoyed spending his 15+ retirement years while in Corpus Christi Texas.

Survivors include aunts, Doris (Darrell) McCabe, Lanesboro, Joyce Fossum, Canton MN, and Bonnie Fossum, Harmony MN. Cousins, Ron Soland, Tammy Ryan, Todd Fossum, Tim Fossum, Troy Fossum, Debbie Majerus, Diann McCabe, Douglas McCabe, Denise Slavin, Dustin McCabe, and Glenda Fossum.  He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Soland, wife Edie Fossum, and infant sister, Betty Mae.

Dave will be honored with a military service with burial at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi Texas. Sawyer-George Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
