David Cruz, Jr.

David “DJ” De La Cruz, Jr., age 22, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away May 24, 2014 in Webb County, Texas due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born February 11, 1992 in Laredo, Texas to David and Patricia De La Cruz. David was a 2010 graduate of Tuloso-Midway High School and was employed by Smith Casing Company. DJ, a gentle giant who loved his sisters, mom, dad, and was overly loved by them. Everyone who knew him would have the same saying “To know him was to love him”, one of the most gentle souls with a heart of gold always ready to give a helping hand with a smile. Our Super Hero will always be in heaven ready for our call with a click of a button to turn on the Batman beacon to answer our call. DJ we will miss you for ever and ever till the day we see each other again! We love you DJ. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather. He is survived by his parents, David, Sr. and Patricia De La Cruz; three sisters, Erica C. (Julian Garcia) De La Cruz, Angelica P. De La Cruz, Emily D. De La Cruz; maternal grandmother, Consuelo Hernandez; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 29, 2014 with a Prayer Service conducted at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.
