Darrell Whiteley

Darrell Whiteley, 74, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born June 11, 1935 in Aransas Pass, Texas to William Roy and Wilma Rae Fletcher Whiteley. Darrell was a member of First Baptist Church in Odem. He retired from Koch Refinery after 38 years of service and was a farmer. He was a lifetime supporter of the Odem Owls. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debbie Whiteley Lindermanis. He is survived by his wife, Jan Whiteley of Odem, Texas; his son, Bill Whiteley of Dallas, Texas; his grandchildren, Ryan Bellows and his wife Julie of Dallas, Texas and Fletcher Whiteley of College Station, Texas. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas. Pallbearers will be Charlie Sanchez, Tommy Sanchez, David Doria, Jessie Doria, Stanley Webb, Danny Beyer, Ronnie Setliff and Robert Whatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Fleming, James F. Price, E.M. Wood, Kenneth Shackleford and Sid Brough.
