Danny Moore

Danny Wade Moore, 78, of Corpus Christi, passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

Danny was born on August 8, 1944, to Ollie Moore and Mary Alice Hughes in La Feria, Texas. After Danny graduated from La Feria High School in 1962, he joined the United States Navy. He enlisted June 13, 1962 and was honorably discharged August 6, 1965. During his time in the U.S. Navy, he was trained in aviation electronics.

After his honorable military discharge, he spent his life working as a diesel mechanic. He believed in hard work and devoted much of his time and energy into his trade. He was exceptional at his craft and there was nothing he couldn’t fix or problem he couldn’t solve. He was often sought out for his expertise throughout the region.

Danny was loyal, lighthearted, fun loving and had friends everywhere he went. He had an infectious laugh and always found the humor in every situation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and football and played on the varsity football team in high school. Danny enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends above all else.

Danny was preceded in death by parents Ollie Moore and Mary Alice Hughes, siblings Norman Moore and Wanda Ayers, loving wife Lindysue Eve Shelton Moore and eldest son Billy Wade Moore. He is survived by his children Kelly (Brian) Kane, Aaron (Roxanne) Moore, Brandi Smith (Jason Lopez), Dustie (Beau) Finch; his grandchildren Justin (Kolby) Moore, Shealeigh Thompson, Layni Thompson, Brealinn Finch, Bryce Finch, Braxton Finch, Aubrey Moore, Rory Moore, Patrick Kane, Ella Kane and his great grandchildren Kyleigh Moore and Loghan Moore.

The visitation will be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home on Thursday, November 10th from 9:00-10:30 am. Followed by the graveside service at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with Full Military Honors at 11:00am.
