Daisy Green

The angels welcomed Daisy Ruth Ford Green, 86, to her heavenly home on January 25, 2012. She was born in Karnes County on July 5, 1925, to the late Arthur Elisha and Ethel Wickliffe Ford. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jimmie E. "Red" Green on October 29, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She deeply loved her God, family and friends. Her home was the gathering point for all and as a result, she was affectionately known as "Mom" to many. She will be dearly missed. Daisy was predeceased by her loving husband, "Red" Green; her parents, Arthur Elisha and Ethel Wickliffe Ford; her brothers, William Ezra Ford, Clay Ford and Clayton Ford and her twin sons, JE and JD Green. She is survived by her son, Jimmy E. Green, Jr. (Brenda); her daughter, Karen Dishman (Chris); her grandchildren, Melissa Hamilton, Richard Hamilton (Jessica), Kendra Gruen (Jeff), Danny Seals and the apple of her eye, her great grandchildren, Kaity Thomas and Emma and Conner Gruen as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sydney Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow in the George West Cemetery in George West, Texas.
