Cristel "Chris" Figueroa, Jr. passed away on February 11, 2017, at the age of 72. He was born in Agua Dulce, Texas and resided in Robstown, Texas for many years before moving to Northwest Corpus Christi, Texas. Chris served in the United States Army beginning in 1965 in Fort Polk, Louisiana and later served from 1966 to 1967 in Seoul, South Korea. He worked as an office manager for years before retiring as a corrections officer from the Texas Department of Corrections. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Cristel and Virginia Figueroa and his brothers Arturo Figueroa and Oswaldo Figueroa. Chris is survived by his wife of 48 years, Angie Figueroa; daughter Diana Figueroa; son Brian (Tracy) Figueroa; granddaughters, Sabrina and Mallory Figueroa; siblings, Lydia Rocha of Lubbock, Texas; Adela Saucedo of Robstown, Texas; and Angie (Locario) Gutierrez of Mathis, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Sawyer- George Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Burial with military honors will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
