Charles Sylvester Gallagher, aged 87 years, passed peacefully on to his Savior on Monday, August 11, 2014. Mr. Gallagher was a long-time resident of Victoria, Texas, having recently moved to Corpus Christi. Mr. Gallagher was born to Augustin Christopher Gallagher and Margaret Gallagher nee Trammell on July 9, 1927, the second of four boys. He grew up in Breckenridge, Texas where he was an alter server in his church and played high school football. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 and served in the Pacific Theater during WWll. After his service, Mr. Gallagher returned to the Wichita Falls area to attend college at Midwestern. It was at that time that he met and married his wife of 64 years, Nancy Faubion. The couple moved to Alice, Texas in 1951 where they raised 3 children. Mr. Gallagher is survived by his wife, Nancy Gallagher and children, Marcia Mann (Jim) of Cuero, Deborah Doyle (Thomas) of Corpus Christi, and Christopher Gallagher (Deborah) of Vacaville, CA. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Kenneth Moore (Carole) of Victoria, Brandon Moore (Holly) of Victoria, Amanda Taylor of Corpus Christi, Michael Doyle of San Marcos, Meave Gallagher of New York City, and Colin Gallagher of San Francisco; seven great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. They are Lacy Sprague (Aaron), Kim Grudzieski (Derek), Erin Taylor, Trace Taylor, Cullen Taylor, Taylor Moore, Rusty Moore, Katelynn Sprague, and Karleigh Sprague. A memorial service mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church.
