Charles Atkinson Jr.

Charles “Buster” Atkinson, Jr., 58, passed away at his home Sunday, February 16, 2014 after a brief illness. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Routh Atkinson Kelly; brother, Jordan C. Atkinson and grandson, Harley Manheimer. He is survived by his wife, Judy Garner Atkinson of Odem, Texas; his daughter, Jamie (Doug) Manheimer; sons, Charles H. “Josh” III (Tina) Atkinson, Brian Garner, and Eddie (Rebecca) Hamilton; parents, Charles H. Sr. and Ann Atkinson; sisters, Charlene Awbrey, Patricia Forester and Suzanne Fox; brothers, Scott (Toni) Vick and John (Michell) Atkinson; eleven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his faithful dog, Squirt. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the loving care given to Buster by his nephew, Michael C. Smith. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
