Charlcie Maddox

Charlcie Geneva Maddox, age 89, of Portland, Texas passed away July 1, 2012. She was born January 2, 1923 in Clarksville, Texas to Albert Sidney and Maude Terry. Charlcie was an active member of the River Hills Baptist Church and will be remembered for her passion for helping others, for her wit, for her cooking and for her love of family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Aussie Terry, a daughter, Elaine Faye Maddox and her husband Howard Lee Maddox in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Neill) Amsler of Rockport, Texas; grandchildren, John (Melissa) Daws of Corpus Christi, Texas, Alex (David) Diharce of San Antonio, Texas, Michelle (Will) Ellis of San Antonio, Texas and Suzanne Amsler-Skinner; great grandchildren, Ewan, Abigail, Sara, Adison, Anna Grace, Dawson, Walker, Tripp, Beau and Rhett. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with the family present form 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St.; Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415 with Bro. Bill Simmons officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the River Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, 16318 F.M. 624, Robstown, Texas 78380.
