Celeste Harrison

Celeste Harrison, 90, of La Vernia, Texas, passed with peace and grace on Saturday, October 29, 2016 with family at her side. Born 1926 in Houston, TX, Celeste was the daughter of John B. and Lucille Frazier. Celeste married John Thomas Harrison Jr. and enjoyed 59 years of marriage in Corpus Christi before his passing in 2002. A woman of sharp-wit, quiet strength and unwavering dedication to family, Celeste loved to garden and enjoyed growing her own fruits and vegetables to can and preserve, to make jams and jellies and even to concoct her own wines. She took immense pleasure in teaching her daughters to garden, cook, bake, sew and crochet, and that with a little hard work, anything can be accomplished. Celeste is survived by her three daughters Pennye (Danny) Duewall of Midland, Amy (James) Wagner of La Vernia and Connie (Ray) Covey of Austin; grandchildren Billy Duewall, Clint Duewall, Jamie Wagner, Thomas Wagner, Jason Abernethy, Lindsay Covey Dennis and Lacy Covey Hoysradt; and five great grandchildren. Celeste is preceded in death by her parents John B. and Lucille Frazier; husband John Thomas Harrison Jr.; and brother John Boyd Frazier. The funeral service will be held graveside at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 5, 2016.
