Carolyn "Ann" Wilson, 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas, a former longtime resident of Robstown, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her home after a long illness. She was born April 14, 1927 in Prescott, Arizona to Rev. Charles Francis York and Mary Elizabeth Reeves York. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and her Masters Degree in Education from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. She taught school in the Robstown Independent School District from 1944 until 1950 and again from 1958 to 1987 when she retired. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Robstown where was a retired organist. Carolyn married Ralph George Wilson on June 19, 1949 in Navasota, Texas. She is survived by her husband of over 62 years, Ralph Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sons, David Ralph (Nancy) Wilson of Abilene, Texas and Rick (Vickie) Wilson of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, David John (Shelly) Wilson, Melanie Clark, Gregg Wilson, Melissa (Frank) Malone and Brian (Jen) Wilson; 12 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barbara Dyke, Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gregg Wilson, Brian Wilson, Frank Malone, Randy Wright, Mark Glasson and Jody Smart. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to First United Methodist Church in Robstown or to your favorite charity.
