Carolina Medina Ramirez passed on to her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 2, 2014, at 9:30 pm. Carolina was born in Seguin, Texas, on August 22, 1918. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rodolfo R. Ramirez. Survivors are daughters Gloria (Rudy) Munguia of Austin, Tina (Raul) Rosales, and Ruby (Mario) Tapia all of Corpus Christi; sons Rudy (Pamela) Ramirez of Violet, TX, and Ruben (Amanda) Ramirez of Driscoll; grandchildren: Becky (John) Parker, Paul Munguia (Heather) all of Austin, TX, Mario Rosales (Alice) of Corpus Christi, Bryan Ramirez of Austin, Amanda (Cesar)Garcia of San Antonio, Marinna and Marisella Ramirez of Driscoll, Marisol Rosales, and Marcos Tapia both of Corpus Christi; four great-grandchildren Lucas and Ethan Parker of Austin, Atticus Garcia of San Antonio, and Carlos Rosales of Corpus Christi. Other survivors include her sister Ercilia Jimenez, brothers Efrain (Anita) Medina, Ramiro (Rosario) Medina, and Margarito Medina all of San Antonio, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Paul Munguia, Mario Rosales, Bryan Ramirez, Mario Tapia, Dr. Cesar Garcia, and John Parker. Marcos Tapia will be honorary pallbearer. Carolina's love of her life was tending to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening and making beautiful quilts for her family. Special thanks to the Villa Northwest, Dr. Pop-Moody', Mary and staff, and special long-time friends, Julia Salazar, Kathy Sierra and the Garcia Family, Joe Munoz, and Norma Greer who continually visited Carolina and shared her quilting secrets. Visitation will be on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 10 AM to 11 AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11 AM at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown.
