1951 Bud 2018

Bud Mckinney

July 5, 1951 — July 26, 2018

On July 24 ,2018, our dearly beloved Bud B. McKinney, a most faithful servant, was united in Heaven with our Lord. Born July 5, 1951 in the small logging community of Oakridge, Oregon, he developed a deep appreciation for nature and the value of hard work among his very humble beginnings. That background fueled his desire to fully utilize his God-given talents to further himself, provide for his family, and help anyone in need. He worked long hours and many years as a pharmacist by counseling, staying open after hours, and making home deliveries to serve those in need. Much later, he "retired" into his second profession as a chemical engineer in the oil and gas industry. His down-to-earth personality, quick wit, and intellect captured the heart of a young woman he met in Corpus Christi one fate-filled night in 1981. Quickly becoming obvious they could not be without each other, he married Diana Arredondo just 28 days later. Their 37-year marriage union was blessed with two sons, C.J. and Matt, whom he was deeply proud of and intently grateful to be called their father. Throughout their time together, he greatly enjoyed attending and hosting countless family gatherings, seamlessly melding into the rich Hispanic family culture he married into. He joins his mother Pat, father Bill, brother Bob and father-in-law Andres in eternal peace. In addition to his wife and sons, left to honor him are his brother Dave (Sally) and many beautiful nieces, nephews and additional relatives in South Texas and Oregon. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church, followed by burial with full military honors at 1 P.M. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
