Brenda Lawson Wostal peacefully passed on Tuesday, September 16th, 2014 in her home surrounded by family offering comfort and returning the love she spent her entire life giving. She was 54 years old. Brenda was born in Falfurrias, TX on September 15, 1960 and was the fourth child to Calvin and Ruth Lawson. As a young lady, Brenda was involved in drama and enjoyed painting. She always loved babies and children; therefore, she welcomed children by creating a home daycare which she continued for 10 years. A walk in Brenda’s backyard reveals clear evidence of her passion for gardening and amazing green thumb, and a browse through her collection of novels shows her love of reading and energetic imagination. However, on a Sunday during football season you would almost never find her anything but excited and enthusiastically cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. Brenda married Buddy on September 29, 1979 and became a devoted mother and wife who spent most of her time with her family. She attended her children’s activities including traveling around the country for various competitions. Not only did Brenda mother her own children, but she became a second mother to many of her children’s friends. Brenda is survived by Buddy Wostal of Corpus Christi, TX, her husband of 36 years, daughter Nicole Rougeau (Jared) of Richmond, TX, and son Heston Wostal and daughter Tamara Wostal, both of Corpus Christi, TX; parents Calvin and Ruth Lawson of Odem, TX, sister Patsy Eichholtz (Tim) of Cypress, TX, brother Calvin C. Lawson (Joni) of Katy, TX, sister Frances Lundy of Clute, TX, and many nieces and nephews. Brenda shared her love with many. She was a faithful friend that would do anything for anyone. She will be missed greatly and remain in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel in the Calallen area in Corpus Christi, TX. Visitation and viewing will begin at 2 P.M and the funeral service will begin at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Brenda’s honor to The American Cancer Society @ www.cancer.org/donate.
