Bobbie Veteto of Tennessee Colony, Texas, passed away on March 30, 2013 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Born Bobbie Louise McClendon on December 1927, she grew up in Pampa, Texas where her love of gazing at the beautiful sky began. She lived with her parents, James and Stella, and younger sister, Mildred. She attended West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas where she studied accounting. She married Army Captain George Veteto and together they raised three children. She was a devout Christian and member of Lone Pine Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas. She retired from Cayuga Independent School District where she served as Librarian and Tax Assessor/Collector. She enjoyed church, reading, singing, sewing, creating stained glass artwork, and caring for her family. She is survived by three children, Pat Veteto, Glen Veteto, and Gail (Veteto) Ross; three grandchildren, Casey Ross, Greg Veteto, and Rachel (Veteto) Kazanski. She lived the past eight years in Corpus Christi near her children. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 4, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 6. 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Bend Coon Creek Cemetery in central Texas where her body will be buried next to her husband who passed away in 2004.
