Bob King, 79, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011. He was born September 14, 1931 in Agua Dulce, Texas to Ivan C. and Ruby Mae Hartsfield King. Bob served in the U. S. Air Force in Korea, was a farmer and owned Robstown Grain and King and Son Elevators from 1950 to 1995. He coached a farmer's baseball team in the 1960's, and was a tie down calf roper in rodeos for many years (1947-1962). Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Robstown for many years where he was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member and RA counselor. He was presently a member of Calallen Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jonna King and his son, Jeff King. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie King of Robstown, Texas; his son, Scott (Stephanie) King of Orange Grove, Texas; his daughter, LaRae (Larry) Martin of Calallen, Texas; his foster-sons, Randy Helms of Corpus Christi, Texas and Tommy (Brandi) Burleson of Orange Grove, Texas; his step-daughters, Jenni (Brad) Brown of College Station, Texas, Linda (Steve) Boyer of Porter, Texas and Cheryl Ellis of Shertz, Texas; his sister, LaRue (Jim) Shanahan of Frisco, Texas; his grandchildren, Ashley, Amber, Coleman, Lason, Luke (Connie), Brittany, Tyler, Trace, Tripp, Michaelle, Lane, Marci (Sam), Sharon (Brandon), Kim (Adam), Bonnie, Chris (Dannielle) and Emily; his great grandson, Knox. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Thursday, June 30, 2011at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Calallen Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tom Jackson, Weldon Martin, LaFon Denney, Bob Whitley, Jerry Pavelka and Ben Otahal. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Dulin, Lynn Whitlock, Clarence Jauer, Tino Longoria, Cruz Favela, Royce Allen and Gary Roseberg.
