Billy "Bill" Gene Wilson, 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas died at home on June 24, 2016 following an illness. Bill was born December 15, 1928 in Wichita Falls, Texas to William and Clara (Davis) Wilson. At age 8 he moved with his family to Corpus Christi, where he graduated from Corpus Christi High School. In 1952, Bill married Paula Kay Perkins in Casper, Wyoming. Paula died in 1975 and Bill never remarried. Bill worked as a lab technician at Pontiac (later Champlin) Refinery in Corpus Christi until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, birdwatching and sports. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, his parents and his six siblings: John, Jimmy, Martha, Nell, Buddy and Charles. Bill is survived by five children: Melissa (David) Garrett of Algodones, NM; Melody (Hugh) Turner of Algodones, NM; Arnold "Arnie" (Lori) Wilson of Corpus Christi, TX; Amy Wilson of Corpus Christi, TX; and Amanda (Randy) Engleke of Luling, TX; eight grandchildren: Caitlin Garrett, Hannah Turner, Samuel Turner, Willie Wilson, Cody Wilson, Nicole Wilson, Tyler Fangman and Mathew Fangman; and many nieces and nephews. A remembrance was held on June 26, 2016 in Corpus Christi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Gulf Coast Humane Society, 3118 Cabaniss Parkway, Corpus Christi, Texas.
