Billy Ray Downen, Jr.

Billy Ray Downen Jr., 59, passed away August 29, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1964, in Corpus Christi, TX to Billy Sr. and Vera Downen. He married Zondra Downen on September 21, 2007, in Illinois. 

Billy was raised in the Annaville area where he attended Calallen High School. He was involved in FFA and loved the Calallen Wildcat's football team, man was he proud of their team then and now. After high school Billy found his way to the Oilfield which he worked in for many years. He ended his career in the Industrial Cleaning industry as an Account Manager for DeBusk USA. He was a whiz at his job, some would even say that he was the best in the business. He wore his heart on his sleeve and embraced life head on. Billy loved to be around friends and family as often as he could. He was an incredible husband, step-father, brother and uncle. He will be forever remembered by his infectious smile and unforgettable hugs.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray Sr. and Vera Downen. 

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Zondra Downen of Corpus Christi, TX; his stepchildren, Timmy Allen of Corpus Christi, TX and Sarah Allen of Darien, IL. Also, by his four siblings, Jesse (Susan) Downen of Wilmington, IL, Vernon (Lynnet) Downen, Nelson (Heather) Downen and Christine (James) Hay of Corpus Christi, TX; eight nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
