Billie Ray Smith was born December 20, 1927 in Wichita Falls, TX to Frank and Ella Smith. He passed away on July 5, 2022. He was 94 years of age.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents, Frank G and Mary Ella Smith; and his siblings, Ralph L Smith and Bonnie D Wesson
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Jane C Smith; brother, Frank Gerald Smith (Susan); sons, Bruce (Karen) and Barry (Mickie); grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Blake, Lindsay, Shelby; and various great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Billie lived a long fulfilling life of 94 years. He has been married to his loving bride, Jane for 72 years and had two accomplished sons, Barry and Bruce, of which he adored. He was very active in their activities growing up from band to sports. He was a kind gentle man who loved life, family and everyone around him. He joined the Navy during WWII and had worked for Central Power and Light for 42 years, both before and after his time in the service. He was involved for many years as a volunteer fireman in Annaville. In the past he enjoyed rodeo life, RVing and reading paperback westerns, but he really enjoyed playing 42 dominos with his neighbors on Sunny Dr. He will dearly be missed.
A brief visitation will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 12pm at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 1pm at Robstown Memorial Park.
