Billie Nell Paschal, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on February 15, 2015. She was born on January 27, 1932 to William Dan and Irene Fields Wright in Corpus Christi, Texas. Billie graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1950. “Once a Buc, always a Buc.” She was a dedicated member of the Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church, and an avid supporter of Tuloso-Midway football and “Bobby Craig” basketball along with PTA, band, and many other TM activities while her children were attending TM. She loved her Curves friends and just piddling around in her yard with her dog “Sooner” right beside her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert L. “Bob” Paschal and a son, Danny R. Paschal. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann (Jay) Zickefoose of Corpus Christi, Texas and Barbara (Andy) Steiger of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Kyle (Jaime) Zickefoose of Corpus Christi, Texas; Kayla (Scott) Gower of Spring, Texas, Cameron and Matthew Steiger of San Antonio, Texas; her great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kadyn and Kyson Zickefoose and Gracyn and baby girl Gower (due in June) of Spring, Texas; a sister, Peggy Holt of Virginia Beach, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. She was known a Mam Maw to all. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 7 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Tuloso-Midway Baptist Church with Pastor John McAllister officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bobby Craig, Bill Johnson, Scott Gower, and her grandsons, Kyle Zickefoose, Cameron Steiger and Matthew Steiger. Honorary pallbearers will be Kadyn Zickefoose and Kyson Zickefoose. Billie’s family expresses their deepest gratitude to Darlene Starry, her caregiver, these past nine months. Darlene, Edna and Heather, we THANK YOU and LOVE YOU, and also to New Century Hospice Staff, especially, Dale Mathis, for their loving care and compassion they had for our mom and grandmother. Mom fought a tough battle with her illness, and she is once again walking and dancing.
