Betty Post

Betty Mae Doss Post was born to Thelma and Clarence Doss in Delhi, Louisiana on April 7, 1929. She was married and preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Jimmy Talton Post. Together they shared the joy of raising their three daughters, Patricia Russell (Scotty), Betty Steichen and Chris Ramirez (Ruben); along with being the proud grandparents of Dawn Lacy (Paul), Talton Russell (Mika), Sharla Esquivel, Justin Brooks, Lindsay Steichen and Luisa Rocio (Jesus); plus 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Dean (Lafeze) and brother Thomas Doss. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Leona Nunnery. Visitation with the family present will be from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home . Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to Halo Flight or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital, Halo Flight, Valley Baptist Medical Center (Harlingen) and Angel Bright Hospice for their compassionate care.
