Betty Ann Ellison

Betty Ann Gisler Ellison, 86, of Corpus Christi, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1937 to Alfred and Esther Gisler of Odem, Texas. 

She attended Odem Schools and graduated from Sundeen High School of Corpus Christi in 1956. 

Betty worked for Calallen ISD for over 25 years, most of that time as the Tax Assessor-Collector for the district. 

Betty enjoyed sewing, crafting and painting. She helped make many clothes and Halloween costumes for her imaginative grandkids, as well as painting festive figurines and landscapes for fun. She loved to cook and bake for family holidays and get-togethers. Betty will be remembered for her contagious laugh, her honey-scented perfume, sweet smile and generous nature.She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Clay Scull; and her daughter, Suzy Finch. 

She is survived by her sons, Charlie Finch(Diane) and Randy Finch (Ruth); her daughter, Cindy Watkins (Ronnie); her grandchildren: Jonathan Boyd, Robyn Mowrey (Stephen), Sarissa Coffey (Michael), Amanda Abbate (Billy), Jessica Watkins, Lori Rogers (Brett), Kayla Hartman(Jordan); and seven great-grandchildren.

Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Villa Northwest Assisted Living, Caraday of Corpus Christi Assisted Living, Villa South Assisted Living and Memory Care, and Elara Caring Hospice Care nurses, especially Dorothy and Adam.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas.
