Betty Dean Curry, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Friday, April 26, 2013. She was born August 29, 1926 in Lockhart, Texas. Betty retired from the Woodsboro I.S.D. where she had served as the secretary to the Superintendent of Schools. She was a member of Arlington Heights Church of Christ, Town Hall and Christian Women. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mamie Mayo Bluhm and Ernest Bluhm, Sr.; her husband, Billy Ray Curry; her brothers, Ernest Bluhm, Jr. and Garland Bluhm, Sr.; and her sister, Dorcille Balzer. She is survived by her daughters, Raydene (John) Shotts, Luanne (Tom) Morris and Tami Wright; her grandchildren, James (Katie) Shotts, Aaron (Katie) Shotts and Steven (Melanie) Shotts; Billy (Taylor) Ashby, Robby and Kara Ashby, Summer, Shauna and Sierra Wright; 3 great grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty Dean was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, GiGi, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed by many. Visitation with the family present will be from 3 P.M. until 6 P.M. Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Monday, April 29, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with David Srygley and Dale Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.
