Betty Cole

February 27, 1938 — April 20, 2023

Robstown

Betty Stewart Cole, 85, of Robstown, Texas, passed away on April 20, 2023. She was born to her parents, Roy and Lila Stewart, on February 27, 1938, in Lufkin, Texas.

Betty was a woman of God who loved people passionately and lived life to its fullest. She loved Jesus and shared his love and grace to countless people during her lifetime. It was important for her to root her family in her faith as well, taking every opportunity to teach her kids and grandkids the love of God. She served her church community through playing the piano and organ, teaching Sunday School, and working in Vacation Bible School. Betty was a true historian who loved spending time learning not only about her own heritage but that of the Cole family and the regions where they lived. She was also an amazing artist who could create beautiful projects of anything from fabric to flowerbeds. She found great pleasure in developing friendships and fellowshipping as a part of the Red Hat Ladies. Throughout the years she supported the youth in her community through the FFA , rodeos, and of course in supporting her beloved “Calallen Wildcats.” The love between Betty and her husband was a model for all who had the opportunity to witness it, their love extended past his death as she ensured that his memory was passed on. Their love served as a model for all who were blessed to know them. She filled her days loving and supporting her four children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, nephews, and friends. She found no greater joy then travelling the state to support them on the field, court, or stage. She will be missed, but all who have had the pleasure of knowing her can testify that she always did it “her way”. On April 20th, 2023, after 85 years of life, Betty Cole peacefully completed a life well lived.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lila Stewart; husband, Leslie Cole; and brothers in law and sisters in law, Emmett and Elsie Cole and Lee Roy and Mary Cole
