Betty Baker

Betty Jean Baker, 84, of San Patricio, died on February 19, 2015 in Corpus Christi after a long illness. Betty was born in McAllen, Texas on July 8, 1930. She came from a family of fourteen children and grew up in Rio Grande City, Texas. She married Tommy Baker in 1948. They moved their family to Corpus Christi in 1955 and to Northwest Corpus Christi in 1960. She was an active member of the Annaville Baptist Church for many years. Betty was a licensed Vocational Nurse. She worked at Robstown Riverside Hospital and as a home health nurse until her retirement. Betty Baker is survived by her four children, Robert H. Baker Jr. of Belton, Texas, James L. Baker of Houston, Texas, Sandra L. Dunson and Michael W. Baker both of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Parsely of Conroe, Texas. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
