Bettie Hawkins

Bettie Hawkins, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was born May 17, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to J. D. and Bettie Stockton Adams. Bettie was a florist for over 20 years, owned Bettie’s Flower Shop, and then worked for Whataburger for 10 years. She was a member of Annaville Baptist Church, was a founding member and former president of the Northwest Football Little League. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ward Hawkins. She is survived by her sons, Ward Hawkins, III and John (Christine) Hawkins; her daughter, Gina (James) Weaver; her sister, Jay (Myron) Riggs; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 6 P.M. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
