Benjamin (Bennie) Frank Malik, 86, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2014 after a five year struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Robstown, Texas on July 24, 1927 to Thomas and Sophie Malik and lived in Victoria, Texas for over forty years. He later moved to Llano in 2011 to be closer to his family. Bennie married Frieda Veit on June 13, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas. They celebrated their 64th Anniversary this year. He retired from Lack's Furniture stores where he was employed for over 45 years. Bennie was passionate about his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Bennie was preceded in death by his two brothers, George and Emil Malik. He is survived by his wife, Frieda Malik, his sons, Benjamin Malik, Mark Malik, Greg Malik, his daughters, Janelle Malik and Jennifer Hoepfl; daughter-in-law Sherri Malik, son-in-law Paul Hoepfl and family friend Suzanne Toler, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel, 12497 Leopard St, Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 603 N 1st St., Robstown, Texas with Rev. Gerard “Jerry” Sheehan as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Robstown Memorial Park.
