He was always ready to provide his skills to family members and friends. His other great loves were gardening, fishing, cooking, and traveling. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Benito, Sr. and Celestina; his brothers, Felipe and Rene, and his sister, Alicia De Alejandro, who coincidentally expired a few years ago on February 12th. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter, Natalie (Elias) Dimas; son, Mario, from Chicago, Illinois; granddaughters, Dolores Celestina Dimas and Giselle Marie Ramirez (Chicago, IL); grandsons, Elias Dimas, Jr., and Austin Benito Ramirez; a sister, Elida (Robert) Ceballos; and three brothers, Martin and Cecilio Ramirez of Corpus Christi, Texas and Roman (Donna) Ramirez of Austin, Texas. Fond memories of Benny will be cherished by his sisters-in-laws, a brother-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends - especially those that he grew up with in the "barrio." Visitation will be begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Critical Care Unit staff, the doctors and the nurses on the third floor, and the Chaplains at Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial, for their excellent and compassionate care of Benny during his last days.
