Benigno Escamilla

Benigno Garcia Escamilla, 89, of Laredo, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. He was born February 13, 1926 in Laredo, Texas. Benigno was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired with over 30 years of service in the General Services Administration of the U. S. Government. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Reyes Escamilla and Carmen Garcia Escamilla and his sister, Francisca Rubio. He is survived by his sisters, Beatriz Donaghy of Merced, California, Diamantina Smith of Laredo, Texas and Maria Luisa Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas; his brothers, George Escamilla of Bluntzer, Texas and Jose Angel Escamilla of Laredo, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. until 7 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 P.M. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow in Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 2 P.M.
