Barry Wood

Barry Wood, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away September 6, 2015. He was born June 17, 1932 in Harlingen, Texas to Joe and Wilma Wood. Barry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Chip Wood and a daughter, Jennifer Vanderheiden. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Alice Wood; daughters, Juliette Wood and Lucy (Brent) Balusek; two brothers, Terry and Larry Wood; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 11, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas with Rev. Jerry Sheehan celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.
