Barbara Hix

Barbara Joan Walker Hix, age 83, of Corpus Christi, Tx, lost her battle with Alzheimer’s disease on Friday, September 9, 2022.  She was born on October 22, 1938 in Virden, Manitoba, Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gaston W. Hix; her parents Dorthey Helen Giles and Harold Southward Walker: her siblings Ray Walker, Patricia Howdle, and Audrey Peterson-Kippenhan: and mother-in-law, Leta Smith Hix.

She was survived by her children, Robin Renee Hix and Melody Sue Hix Baxter (Danny W. Baxter); her grandchildren, Abbey Jo Favor (Dustin), Illia Larissa Burriola (Nathan), and Hailey Renee Kelley (Andrew); her great grandchildren, Dustin, Tristan, Justice, and Paris Favor,  Larissa, Reese, and Garrison Burriola, and Branson Wayne Kelley; and many nieces and nephews in the U.S and Canada.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there for her family.  She had many wonderful friends from her time with the Loyal Order of the Mouse Lodge #734 where she achieved her College Degree and Star Recorder.

Service will be held at the Coastal Bend State Veteran’s Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX, Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
