Armando H. Vasquez, Jr., age 77, of Corpus Christi, Texas was welcomed into God’s Kingdom on October 15, 2013. He was born in Robstown, Texas on April 7, 1936 to Armando T., Sr. and Aurelia Hernandez Vasquez. Armando worked for forty-five years for the Nueces County Engineering Department, which was later, the Public Works Department as a Roads Superintendent. He loved to garden and spending quality time with his family. Mr. Vasquez was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Alice Avalos. He is survived by his wife, Oudlia Vasquez; children, Patsy (Richard) Villareal, Mando (Stephanie) Vasquez, III, Bobby (Laura) Vasquez, Sandy Vidal; brothers and sisters, Sara (Raul) Zuniga, Aurora (Arturo) Lopez, Amador (Sylvia) Vasquez, Amelia (Nick) Adamez, Arturo (Elida) Vasquez, Adolfo (Janie) Vasquez, Bessie Vasquez; grandchildren, Michele Serna, Jennifer Rodriguez, Armando Vasquez, IV, Leslie Vasquez, Mason Vasquez, Robert Vasquez, II, A.J. Vidal, Aaron Vidal; great grandchildren, Michael Serna, Matthew Serna, Brandon Serna, Jackie Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostle’s Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Seamus McGowen as celebrant. Entombment will follow at a later date at the Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the America Diabetes Association.
